Degree Apprentice Software Engineer (starting salary £19,000)

About Us

We help the public sector improve their use of technology, making a difference to the people of the UK.

We work on diverse projects. Whether it is supporting climate science, helping our armed forces make better decisions, looking after our forests and woodlands, supporting green city schemes, optimising government procurement… our work matters.

As an established technology service provider operating out of the South West, we apply knowhow and expertise to help our clients with their digital journey.  Through agile software engineering practices, exploiting the power of the cloud and unlocking value in data, we deliver innovative cutting edge services and solutions.

Rowe IT is an exciting, growing business which has developed strong working relationships with prestigious clients who include the MOD, Met Office, UK Hydrographic Office, Forestry Commission and central government.  At the heart of this is its staff; people who believe in collaboration and have a passion and pride in what they achieve for the greater good.  As a part of this you will have the opportunity to flexibly work in a modern, vibrant office and expand your knowledge and skills into exiting new areas.  As Rowe IT grows, we will ensure you do too.

Your Role

If you’re looking to start your career after Sixth Form or College, our Apprenticeship scheme will offer you new challenges every day, access to expert knowledge and give you exposure to cutting-edge technologies.

You’ll learn while you earn, gain a recognised qualification and build your experience and confidence in the workplace. By working alongside experienced software engineers, you will develop advanced skills and grow within the company

Our Degree Apprenticeship programme combines university accredited learning with technical training and mentoring.  You’ll be taking on real business challenges in software engineering and receive full training and support throughout the programme, as well as a salary and additional benefits. You’ll learn and work with some of the most advanced technology, and you’ll develop a broad range of competencies including teamwork, communication and leadership skills.

Who Are You?

We’re looking for motivated, technically orientated individuals to join our four-year BSc Honours Degree Apprenticeship scheme based in Exeter, starting in September 2023.

You should be a team player; comfortable collaborating and operating in a dynamic customer facing environment. A growth mind-set and the ability to think creatively is essential.

Some projects will require that you undertake and be eligible for UK security clearance (BPSS or SC).

Don’t miss out on this great alternative to university if you have (or are expecting) three A levels at AAB or above (or equivalent), including 2 A levels in STEM subjects or a Technical Diploma with at least DDD.   If you are passionate about your work, proactive and curious about new technology and solutions, we want to hear from you.
