The Role

This is a hybrid role. Although regular visits to our Plymouth HQ will be required, you will also be able to regularly work from your home office. You will be part of a multi-skilled team to deliver solutions to our clients predominantly based in the South-West but potentially elsewhere in the UK.  Your role will be hands on, involved in the design and development of either front end interfaces and/or back end services for our projects.   Some offsite travel and working will be required.

The Ideal Candidate

You are a graduate with a good degree in a Computing or science discipline, with a passion for creating great solutions. With the help of our experienced team you will have the opportunity to grow your skills and become an awesome software engineer, using cutting edge technologies and practices.

You should be a team player; comfortable collaborating and operating in a dynamic customer facing environment. A growth mind-set and the ability to think creatively is essential.

Some projects will require that you undertake and be eligible for UK security clearance (BPSS or SC).

Required Skills: 

  • JavaScript (including experience with libraries such as JQuery), HTML5, CSS3
  • At least one backend object orientated language (e.g. Java, C#, C++)
  • Good communication skills

Desired Skills:

  • Typescript (e.g. Angular)
  • Java (ideally with Spring)
  • AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Software Design patterns
  • Automated Testing
  • Agile, Scrum
  • Restful web service experience

Interview process

Recruitment always starts with an initial Teams or Google Meet call.  If both sides feel there is a good fit, this is then followed up with a second stage interview which includes:

  • A 10 minute presentation on a subject of our choice
  • Technical test and discussion
  • Cultural interview

This may vary dependent upon experience or the role.
