Rowe IT is an exciting, growing business which has developed strong working relationships with prestigious clients who include the MOD, Met Office, UK Hydrographic Office, Forestry Commission and central government. This is a hybrid role. Although regular visits to our Plymouth HQ will be required, you will also be able to regularly work from your home office. You will be part of a multi-skilled team to deliver solutions to our clients predominantly based in the South-West but potentially elsewhere in the UK. Your role will be hands on, involved in the design, development and delivery of our projects across the whole stack. Activities will include:
- Design and development
- Assisting in the technical direction of projects
- Ensuring code quality
- Working to a project schedule
- Suggesting improvements to project team processes, tooling and techniques
- Sharing knowledge and experience with others
- Some offsite travel and working.
The Ideal Candidate
You are a software engineer, with an excellent understanding of good software development practices, patterns and architecture, including unit and integration testing.
You should have or aspire to gain a thorough grounding and proven track record in developing applications across the stack, using a wide range of technologies.
You should be an excellent communicator and be able to collaborate and operate in dynamic agile team based environments. A growth mind-set and the ability to think creatively is essential.
Some projects will require that you undertake and be eligible for UK security clearance (BPSS or SC).
- Cloud development (e.g. AWS or Azure)
- RESTful Web Services
- Desire to deliver outcomes for users
- Agile practices such as Scrum
- A growth mindset
- Core and Enterprise Java including Spring
- Cloud certifications
- TDD (Test Driven Development)
Recruitment always starts with an initial Teams or Google Meet call. If both sides feel there is a good fit, this is then followed up with a second stage interview which includes:
- A 10 minute presentation on a subject of our choice
- Technical test and discussion
- Cultural interview
This may vary dependent upon experience or the role.
We anticipate a starting salary of between £32,000 to £45,000, coupled with an annual bonus based upon the overall performance of the company. A range of other benefit are also available to the successful candidate:
